Context
Coffee Diary is a WordPress-based coffee e-commerce website. Instead of presenting products as a standard catalogue first, the homepage frames coffee through daily moments, recommending different coffee experiences from 7AM to 10PM.
Problem
- Coffee products can feel repetitive when shown only as a product grid.
- New shoppers may not know which coffee suits their mood, routine, or time of day.
- An e-commerce homepage needs to balance brand atmosphere with clear shopping paths.
- The WordPress build needed a structure that could feel editorial while still supporting conversion.
Design Goal
- Use a time-based homepage journey to make recommendations feel personal and intuitive.
- Connect coffee products with everyday rituals, from morning focus to evening calm.
- Keep the page warm, readable, and commerce-ready across desktop and mobile.
- Make product discovery feel guided without hiding shopping actions.
Key Features
- Timeline-led homepage from 7AM to 10PM
- Time-of-day coffee recommendations
- Editorial sections for mood, ritual, and product storytelling
- WordPress structure suitable for a coffee e-commerce brand
- Clear shopping entry points throughout the homepage
Outcome / Reflection
This project helped me explore how e-commerce UX can move beyond product listing and become a guided story. The timeline structure gives each recommendation a reason to exist, making the homepage feel more memorable and easier to browse.
