Context

Legal information websites are often difficult for visually impaired seniors to use. Common barriers include small text, complex menus, dense legal terminology, poor screen reader support, and a lack of step-by-step guidance.

Problem

  • Users struggle to understand complex legal terms.
  • Existing services rely heavily on visual navigation.
  • Seniors with visual impairment need step-by-step voice guidance.
  • Long and complex legal tasks can make users rely on others instead of completing tasks independently.

Design Goal

  • Make legal information easier to understand.
  • Reduce visual and navigation burden.
  • Support voice-first interaction and accessible settings.
  • Help users complete legal information tasks step by step.

Testing & Iteration

Based on usability testing, I improved icon clarity, button hierarchy, language switch visibility, and task flow consistency.

Outcome / Reflection

This project helped me understand that accessibility is not only a visual design problem, but also a workflow, language, and interaction problem. Designing for visually impaired seniors required me to think beyond screen layout and consider voice interaction, readability, guidance, and user confidence.
